Technology Transfer

(0:00 - 0:02): Advancements in Video Game Design have trickled down into electronic and complementary technologies within other industries. This is known as technology transfer.

(0:02 - 0:03): Handheld consumer products, such as cell phones, storage devices, and music players, have all benefitted from Video Game Design. Flash memory, technology that originated in Atari ROM cartridges, is still in use today in items like flash drives and memory cards.

(0:04 - 0:05): The education field has benefitted from Video Game Design by using LCD projectors, smart boards, computers, and educational video games to better engage students.

(0:06 - 0:07): By using video game imaging and simulations, surgeons and other medical professionals can study the human body and practice surgical procedures.

(0:08 - 0:10): Employers can use Video Game Design to provide their employees with new or enriched skills, including foreign language education. Interactive characters can help a learner to practice and absorb a foreign language.

(0:10 - 0:11): The heaviest user of Video Game Design outside of the video game industry is the military. Training may be done on flight or first person shooter simulators, and they even use virtual reality machines to fly unmanned aircraft on real missions.
