  Height, Weight, and BMI (Figure 11.29) (PDF, 364 KB)

Instructions: Print a copy of the height/weight chart. Then complete the following steps. Imagine you have a patient who is four years and three months of age. She weighs 38 pounds and is 40 1/2 inches tall.

1. Record the patient’s age, weight, and height (stature) in the table at the top of the chart.

2. Calculate and record the patient’s BMI.

3. Plot the height and weight for this young patient.

4. Determine percentiles for height and weight and record these on the lines below the graph.
