Read the passage below and then answer the questions.

People who have a loved one with an alcohol problem may also try to keep other people from finding out about this problem. They may cover up the problems caused by the person’s drinking or hide evidence of the drinking. These attempts to cover up evidence of the person’s drinking, however, simply help the person avoid the natural consequences of their behavior, and can enable this behavior to continue. Encouraging an addict’s unhealthy behaviors, either intentionally or unintentionally, is called enabling.
