Safety and First Aid
FRIEND: Hey, Jason...Jason. Hey, man... ...hey, dude. Can I get a ride home, maybe? Is that cool?
JASON: Huh?
FRIEND: Uh, was that a "Yes?"
JASON: Yeah, sure.
FRIEND: All right.
Transition to outside scene
FRIEND: Come on, man. It's really cold out here. Come on.
JASON: I'm getting it...hold on a second.
JASON starts the car
FRIEND: Um, you planning on going home some time today, or are we just going to sleep in the parking lot?
JASON: Dude, just chill for a second. I gotta...I gotta respond to this.
Did you just text me? Dude, you could have just asked me. I'm right here.
She's kind of cute.
FRIEND: I'm surprised you noticed.
SPEAKER 1: Did you know that teens are nearly three times more likely to be involved in a car accident than adults? Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among young people between the ages of 15 and 20. And the use of cell phones while driving increases the risk of an accident by 400%.
SPEAKER 2: In most states, it is illegal to text and drive. And if you're under the age of 18, it's illegal to use a cell phone while driving for anything other than an emergency.
SPEAKER 1: Being safe means being prepared when accidents happen. But it also means making smart choices to prevent accidents in the first place.
SPEAKER 2: Whether you're driving, or dating, or going to work, or walking home from school, there are always things you can do to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
SPEAKER 1: So think about what you can do to stay safe and make the world safer for those around you. And think about these questions as well.
