Cooking Method: Steaming
Steaming is a moist-heat cooking method.
Food to be steamed is placed on a rack suspended above boiling water. The lid helps contain the steam in the pot. When the water begins to boil, steam vapor is produced which surrounds the food and cooks it.
The temperature of steam is above 212°F, or 100°C.
